My claims were being dumbed down while all this was going on - whereas I had pointed out to them that the interference on my line stopped if/when I switched off my modem!!!

Latest harassment and intimidation

This week my individual black wheelie bin vanished. (Given to me by my council so I do not have to hurt my wrist/shoulder opening the large communal bins.)

At 02.00am today 7th Sept.08 I heard extremely loud banging sounds coming from the direction of my front window (I only have a bed-sitting-room in this flat.) I sleep with my light on these days and was actually in my kitchen en route to the bathroom [having stayed up late on my PC doing family history].

When I went back to my main room I saw my cats staring towards the window. I checked briefly and peeped between my 2 blinds but saw nothing.

This morning I discovered new damage to my already cracked windows and a small hole in one that was not there before.

I logged it this am: CB 08/4061 but will my police take any notice? - I doubt it, I have no proof! 18.22 not even a phone call :(

Examples of previous harassment

I have been subjected to a course of harassment for over 4 years.

It escalated in 2006 with a long series of incidents since then.

2 incidents of verbal abuse, harassment and intimidation resulted in the police being obliged to act in 2007 when I finally had witnesses, the previous harassment was 'out of time' so only a caution was issued and at that a single one for two separate offences!!

Alas, this insidious harassment is still going on. The usual ploy used by my police force to play down this behaviour is to class it as a 'neighbourly dispute'. How can they justify classing one-sided harassment as a dispute?

This was also the excuse used when I recently received a hate text.

The NTL originally in charge of my neighbourhood team told me the 1998 Protection from Harassment Act could not be applied to my problems.

There is method in their attitude. A course of harassment is 'history' after 6 months. By fobbing me off they can wipe the culprit's slate clean again and again.

Hope for victims - there doesn't seem to be any :(

Police 'Response'!

The officer attending in July 2007 when my bin was blocking my outward opening porch door [leaving me feeling a hostage in my own flat yet again] - was offhand and declared it must have been the wind. When I tried to explain that I was the victim of a course of harassment and had already had to complain about the attitude of my neighbourhood team, he turned on his heel and flatly refused to give me his name!

The bin was quite obviously not just blown over, it was slung onto my plant containers.

Treating such incidents as trivial is unfair - at the time each occurrence of harassment causes distress. Failing to respond appropriately is actually secondary victimisation.

According to this premise the next day the wind magically managed to blow my black bin in the opposite direction into the bushes between the porch and the garden wall - no I don't think so. There was no tornado here whisking my bins up and dumping them in different places. They had to have been helped by 'human' hands.
